Diclofenac sodium 25 mg

Suppository

• Analgesic/anti-inflammatory in rheumatoid arthritis, chronic polyarthritis, periarthritis of the shoulder, osteoarticular pain, low back pain, acute gout, tendonitis, sprains, strains, bursitis, postpartum pain.
• Analgesic, anti-inflammatory after surgery and after trauma
• Emergency antipyretic in acute upper respiratory tract infections (including acute upper respiratory tract infections with acute bronchitis) when other antipyretics are ineffective or cannot be used.
• Pain relief due to ear, nose or throat infections, e.g. tonsillitis, otitis media (ENT).
• The underlying disease should be treated according to general principles of treatment, if necessary with basic anti-infective therapy. Not indicated in fever without inflammation.
• Symptomatic treatment of primary dysmenorrhea

To minimize the risk of adverse events, DICLODAT SUP. 25 MG should be used at the lowest effective daily dose for the shortest possible duration (see also Warnings and precautions).
Adults:
The usual dose is 25 to 50 mg of diclofenac sodium rectal once or twice daily, but a lower dose should be used depending on age and symptoms.
Hypothermia may cause shock, so it is recommended to start with a low dose in the elderly.
Children:
0.5 – 1.0 mg/kg body weight of diclofenac sodium rectal once or twice daily, but a lower dose should be used depending on age and symptoms. Hypothermia may cause shock, so it is recommended to start with a low dose.
Dosage guidelines by age when given as a single dose:
1 to 3 years: 6.25 mg
3 to 6 years: 6.25 to 12.5 mg
6 to 9 years: 12.5 mg
9 to 12 years: 12.5 to 25 mg
